UEFA has sanctioned the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FSBiH) due to incidents in the stands during a Nations League match against Sweden, held on October 2 in Zenica.
During this match, Edin Džeko bid farewell to the “Dragons” (the national team), and the Association was fined 30,000 euros.
According to the official explanation, the Association received a fine of 12,000 euros due to the use of pyrotechnics.
Blocking passageways – specifically the stairways in the stands – cost the FSBiH 8,000 euros, while the display of messages deemed inappropriate for a sporting event resulted in an additional fine of 10,000 euros.
Previously, UEFA had fined the FSBiH 40,500 euros due to lapses during the fourth-round Nations League match against Poland.
The FSBiH also received a suspended sanction involving the partial closure of the stadium, which entails closing off five percent of the venue’s capacity for the national team’s next home match in a UEFA competition.
This measure carries a two-year probationary period and will be activated if similar incidents recur within that timeframe.
