Husković graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Toronto and then this second largest country of the world became his new home, place where he started building his successful story. As it usually happens with foreigners, his path to the stars was strewn with thorns, not roses.
“I fought, I wanted to do something with my life,” said Husković, who is now the co-owner of one of the biggest Canadian companies, “Modern Niagara Group”.
It is a private company run by six more people besides Husković. They are dispersed throughout Canada, have numerous employees, and are focused on the biggest projects that this country offers in the field of design, construction, maintenance and upgrading.
“We work on some of the biggest projects in Canada, from hospitals, transit systems, stadiums, data centers, to towers. We just got a job – to work on the biggest hospital in the history of Canada, a project worth around a billion dollars,” Husković explained.
Husković said that the biggest credits for his success go to the people from his environment, and then to persistence, dedication, and investment in knowledge.
“I have always had the best people around me, they are my success. I achieved something not only because I worked for it or because I was smart, but because of the people around me. I am not trying to be humble, but the truth is that I always had the best people around me, the best workers, colleagues, clients. If someone told me that one day I will be talking about this, I would laugh in their face because I never imagined being successful. The war made it all different for me. I thought I will be a football player, I was very much into it, and I departed in a totally opposite direction,” said Husković.
Husković was one of the lecturers at the recently held congress Technology and Innovation for a Brighter Future. He and his colleagues will invest in student projects and thus help them start building their own successful story.
“I want to send a message to all young people out there to never stop dreaming and to never stop setting goals, because if they do not have goals they have nothing. We are there to help them,” Husković concluded.
