Four young software engineering students from the Faculty of Information Technologies (FIT) in Mostar have developed an innovative platform. Interestingly, it will soon become the first auction platform in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), completely free to use. Sanjin Brajevic, Sajra Musanovic, Tarik Colic, and Sajra Fajic joined forces and decided to offer something entirely new to the domestic market with their knowledge, enthusiasm, and vision.
Way of purchasing
As of April 25th, 2025, users will have the opportunity to bid on products online, and Sanjin Brajevic described the creation process and how it functions.
“Colleague Colic and I have known each other since high school, we’re both from Mostar. Sajra Musanovic is from Sarajevo, we met her during our studies, as well as colleague Sajra Fajic who is from Bosanska Krupa. We were all brought together by our love for this work. We formed a team and divided the tasks – so I do the programming, Fajic is the project manager and coordinates everything, Colic handles the business side of the project, while Musanovic works on design and marketing,” Brajevic described.
He pointed out that they have been working on the project for two years already, but about six months ago they decided to try to come up with something that would be a breakthrough on our market.
“We saw that our market only has buying and selling, but nothing modern. We decided to try the auction system. We tested it with close people and friends, and everyone liked the idea and the concept. Now the time has come to release it to the public and see what real users will think,” Brajevic explained.
When it comes to the actual appearance of the platform and how it functions, some elements are similar to those on other websites.
“Of course, there will be search and filtering by categories and prices, but what’s different is the live price display and the time remaining for the auction, so if someone is bidding on a product, new offers come in immediately. The concept is much more interesting than standard shopping,” Brajevic stated.
What’s worth mentioning is that this project was financed exclusively out of their own pockets, without any outside investment.
Product control
“We did it this way because we wanted to realize our vision and have complete control over the product. It will be released exactly the way we envisioned it. Since this is still a student project, we don’t have a company, and we can’t charge subscriptions or usage, so for that reason, the platform will be free to use. It’s enough to register and shopping can begin,” said Brajevic.
This platform is proof that young people, with knowledge and heart, can build the future we all deserve. To mark the launch, on the same day, the first ceremonial auction will be organized, as a symbolic start of the platform and an invitation to all citizens to support a local idea that changes the rules of the game.
The NIX platform can be followed on social media, and by registering on the website, you become part of the first BiH online auction story, Avaz writes.
