Thus, they informed the media representatives about the process of accreditation of the University of Sarajevo and the obligations of the founder (more precisely failing to meet the obligations) on the implementation of the teaching-scientific process.
Chancellor of the University Muharem Avdispahić commented on the fact that after a long process, UNSA finally has met the criteria to become an accredited institution in the coming academic year.
When it comes to the obligations of the founders of the UNSA i.e. the cantonal government, which took over the role as the founder of UNSA, it has the debt which includes salaries for half of November 2013, April, May, and June of 2014 and resources for the implementation of the study on integration with unrounded investments.
The good news are that students of UNSA will finally have a diploma recognized beyond the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, however, this did not attract as much attention as the decision of the Senate from 25 June to raise the tuition fees at the University of Sarajevo.
As it was stated, the Senate passed on the decision to the cantonal government and it has to decide whether it will approve or not.
Vice Chancellor for Finance Prof. Dr. Dženan Đonlagić on this occasion informed the public that the government of the canton as the founder of UNSA owes about 20 million BAM to this institution.
Dean of the Academy of Performing Arts Pjer Žalica said that if the government does not approve these new tuition prices, the academy will not be in position to admit self-financed students.
Dean of the Medical School Almira Hadžović-Džuvo stated that in 2012 the cantonal government approved the tuition cost of 6 000 BAM for self-financed students at this faculty. This decision remains in force and will not be changed.
