European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen congratulated the “Students List” on Sunday evening on its victory in the parliamentary elections in Serbia, stating that the European Union is ready to support Serbia on its path toward EU membership.
In a post on the social network X, von der Leyen noted that the citizens of Serbia turned out to vote in record numbers today to shape the future of their country.
“We are ready to support reforms in the areas of the rule of law, media freedom, the fight against corruption, and the strengthening of democratic institutions, as well as to work together to advance Serbia’s European future and its path toward the European Union,” von der Leyen stated.
