US and Russian Presidents arrive in Anchorage, Alaska

A plane carrying US President Donald Trump has landed in Anchorage, Alaska, US media reported.

Trump arrived in Anchorage for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The plane carrying the Russian president also landed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, ahead of the meeting with Trump, which is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Central European Time.

Russian sources had previously said the meeting between the two leaders could last six to seven hours.

Trump had earlier personally welcomed Putin on the red carpet in Anchorage, and then they drove in the same car to a military base where the first meeting between the US and Russian presidents since 2021 will take place.

The meeting between the two leaders, which will be attended by their closest associates, will be followed by consultations between the Russian and US delegations.

A press conference is expected to be held after the talks.
