At the official handover ceremony of vehicles that was held in the Rajlovac barracks, US Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack said that this is a concrete proof of the readiness of the US to support BiH on its path to membership in NATO.
“These vehicles will not take us to NATO overnight, but they show a clear commitment of the US to BiH and its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration,” said Cormack before officers of the Armed Forces or BiH and officials of the Ministry of Defense of BiH who attended the ceremony.
The United States have committed to donate a total of 44 such vehicles whose value amounts to 3.5 million USD. Delivery of other Humvee vehicles is expected by the end of the year.
The Minister of Defense of BiH Marina Pendes said that these vehicles have a great importance to fill the capacity of the Armed Forces of BiH because they can be used for various purposes.
“These vehicles will significantly improve abilities of the Armed Forces of BiH,” concluded Pendes.
