U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) in B&H and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) are planning to launch a new project in B&H in a few years. ”Gold” project is a new project of local economic development with which USAID and SIDA want to support economic activities in chosen regions of B&H.
During the preparations for this project, the representatives of the international organization MSI (Management Systems International) from Washington, D.C., Jesse Bunch, the director of the Department for International Projects of Reconstruction and Stabilization of Conflict and Post-conflict areas and Aleksandra Marković, the associate of the Department for Business Development visited the Chamber of Economy of Sarajevo Canton today and invited the representative of the Chamber to take part in the preparations of this project.
President of the Chamber of Economy of Sarajevo Canton Kemal Grebo pinpointed the crucial problems of the economy in Sarajevo Canton and the issues surrounding large numbers of unemployed people, as well as their solutions.
Project ”Gold” can give substantial support, because it will be, as announced, focusing on strengthening the capacity in the units of local self-government, supporting local economic development and encouraging the development of local businessmen and new investments. Later on they plan to improve the law on development of business in other projects important for the economic development.
