During the meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, many noticed a large bruise on Donald Trump’s hand and wondered what it was about.
The United States (U.S.) leader, who last month began his second term in the White House, has yet to publish his full medical report.
The White House soon responded and said that the large bruise that appeared on Donald Trump’s hand is the result of shaking hands a lot.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claims that the bruise is the result of handshakes.
“President Trump is a man of the people and meets with many U.S. citizens every day and shakes hands with them more than any other president in history. His dedication is unwavering and he proves that every day,” Leavitt said.
“President Trump has bruises on his hand because he constantly works and shakes hands every day all day,” she said.
The bruise on Trump’s hand is also being heavily discussed on social media. It has sparked speculation about his health. Redness or bruises on the U.S. leader’s right hand were also noticed in August and November last year.
On the platform X, one person suggested that Trump is using blood thinners, while another user wrote: “Why lie at all? It’s obviously a bruise from an IV or blood draw. Is it really a surprise to people that Trump is old and regularly goes for medical checkups?”
In December, Trump said he would publish his full medical report, but he still hasn’t done it.
