Mijatovic stated that the SDP thus shows that it wants to be a party of the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as evidenced by the candidacy of his party colleague Denis Becirovic, on behalf of the State Movement, for a member of the state presidency from the Federation of BiH.
Mijatovic, he said, firmly believes in the civic, multiethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the press conference, he reminded that the deadline for registration of absent voters before this year’s October general elections in BiH expires on July 19. He urged them to do only two things – register and vote – for Bosnia and Herzegovina. More than 500,000 Bosnians and Herzegovinians live outside BiH and have an address in RS, Mijatovic added.
He reminds that the SDP announced the expansion in Trebinje, so at this press conference, Milorad Klimovic from that city in the Republika Srpska was presented as a new member of the SDP.
These days, Klimovic will be given the task of starting the organization of the SDP in Trebinje, party leader Nermin Niksic announced at the press conference, announcing, like Mijatović, upcoming activities on organizational activities in another city of Republika Srpska, Bijeljina.
Mijatovic commented on his own candidacy for a member of the state presidency from that entity, saying: “The time has come for Bosnians to vote for Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Leader Nermin Niksic also said the SDP wants to continue to be a party for the whole of BiH.
“Finally, we believe that in the RS we need to offer BiH citizens from the diaspora a civic choice and a candidate who is ready to advocate for BiH,” the SDP president said, BHRT writes.
