Vucic announced Talks with the People after the Protest against Lithium Mining

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said in the Palace of Serbia on the occasion of the rally against lithium mining that it took place in a democratic atmosphere, but when the rally ended, there was a blockade of the railroad and a stop of traffic on Gazela.

“The meeting itself took place in a democratic atmosphere, which is very important for our country. Everything was as it should be in democratic countries. However, as the meeting ended, things happened that we expected. Because every day when you threaten, there is a situation where violence prevails, and the execution of serious crimes. The occupation of Prokop, the station in Novi Belgrade, the stopping of the motorcycle road and the work on the Gazela bridge itself were not a contribution to democracy, but a mockery of democracy as a political regime and the implementation of violence and terror of the minority, Vucic said.

He said that he did not understand why people living in Serbia wanted to destroy the economy of Serbia. He also spoke to the writing media in Serbia and the region.

“I understand their desire to make things worse for Serbia, I have no problem with that, I think that when every person reads or listens to what is being said in Pristina, Zagreb, Sarajevo and the official Podgorica, it is completely clear to him which side he should be on. Every normal person in this country. And that he understands everything at the same time. I just don’t understand why these people who live in this country wanted to destroy the economy of Serbia,” said Vučić.

He announced visits to Loznica and Krupanj and other places and talks with the people, stressing that he will not hold large rallies to show how many people he can gather.

“I will go to talk to those who think differently, to ordinary people. To talk about their fear,” he said.

He added that he will protect the nature and the health of the children and emphasized that it is still not known whether he will go mining or not, and that lithium will certainly not be mined for another two years.

“We have received some studies, some of them we will see. My mandate ends then. Do people in Serbia really think that I am silly and crazy, that I am going to do something against my country and my people? You love the country more than I do? Because What? Because you came up with that or you have more information than I do? Hard,” he said.

He stated that they have formed a health team, because they will monitor every eventuality in order to have full prevention.

“Do we have any unknowns? Of course we do. I will be the worst possible policeman for Rio Tinto, I will be worse for them than all those who supposedly fought against them, but actually wanted to seize power,” said Vučić, Federalna writes.
