Warning Issued Due To Heavy Rainfall: Risk Of Flooding In Herzegovina

The Adriatic Sea River Basin Agency, Mostar, on Thursday issued a warning due to extraordinary hydrological conditions caused by the forecast of heavier rainfall in the Adriatic Sea basin.

In the area of Herzegovina, between 30 and 70 liters of rain per square meter are expected, and locally up to 90 liters in 24 hours. Such weather conditions can cause a rise in water levels, and consequently, there is an increased danger of flash and urban floods.

The warning is issued for the period from September 24th to 25th.

The Agency calls on the competent institutions to carefully monitor the situation and take appropriate measures according to the Federal Operational Flood Defense Plan.

Rescue and protection services are advised to exercise additional caution in activities involving the protection of people and material goods.
