Poland has scrambled fighter jets in response to Russia’s activities in Ukraine, the Polish Armed Forces’ Operational Command said.
“Military aircraft have begun operating in Polish airspace. Duty pairs of fighter jets have been scrambled, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have been put on the highest level of combat readiness,” the command announced on “X”.
The Operational Command noted that these preventive measures are aimed at providing security in areas bordering “vulnerable regions”.
The Polish military has frequently issued such statements in recent months, usually simultaneously with the declaration of an air strike alert in Ukraine.
