Yesterday, the session of Circle 99 was held, and the topic was “Without the Bosnian nation, there is no modern Bosnian state.” The opening speech was given by professors Senadin Lavic and Zlatko Hadzidedic.
One of the reasons for choosing this topic is the recent appearance of the book “Narod i nacija” (People and Nation) by Slavo Kukic, which was promoted by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ANUBiH). According to Cirlce 99, this book by itself would not have attracted so much attention if the two members, Zlatko Hadzidedic and Senadin Lavic, had not been qualified in the book in a negative context in an academically inappropriate way, without any scientific apparatus.
Zlatko Hadzidedic said that it is a worthless mixture of poor ignorance, anti-logical constructions, and raw lies and slander and that it would not deserve any attention or reaction by itself.
“Nevertheless, the fact that the ANUBiH directly engaged in its promotion, that its reviewers, Mirko Pejanovic and Ivan Cvitkovic, are regular members of the Academy (Pejanovic is also vice-president of the Academy and head of the Department of Social Sciences), indicates that ANUBiH put its authority behind such a dilettante, but at the same time dishonorable work,” he said.
He said that in this context, it is time for the public to be warned that this institution under the current management has fallen to such a low level that any distancing from the science itself, or even from the truth itself, does not represent an ethical or academic problem if it serves to a certain political program – in this case, the program of ethnic division of BiH as the only desirable constitutional-legal and political solution.
In his speech, Senadin Lavic explained that in accordance with the European era of nation-building, it is quite understandable that BiH must continue to develop its own concept of the Bosnian nation, which has a legal and political framework.
“The strengthening of the Bosnian nation is the process of building a state based on law and integrating society on the principles of free and equal citizenship. We need to free the concept of the nation in BiH from the vile interpretations of big-state hegemony of our neighbors, hidden ethnophaulism, epic narratives, primordial fabrications, tribal lies, and myths, from religious dogmas and accept that the nation is a form or medium of connecting citizens, people of one society, which ensures the rule of law and the progress of the community,” he said.
He said that this is exactly the goal and meaning of the narrative about the nation – the established national state of free and equal citizens. The cardinal fact of anti-Bosnian hegemony is reflected in the continuous obstruction of the establishment of the Bosnian nation and the planned undermining of Bosnian sovereignty, Klix.ba reports.
