The well-known Bosnian meteorologist Nedim Sladić received his master’s degree at the University of Great Britain and on this occasion he published an emotional message on his Facebook profile.
He said that this act is another story with a successful outcome.
“A chapter that formally lasted for eight years, and psychologically for 20 years. Dear relatives, friends and acquaintances, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, the process for which I fought almost independently for eight years was completed, while my boyhood dream finally fulfills two decades later. On this day, proudly but exhausted, I finish another story with a successful outcome,” he said.
He said that this month a three-member university commission rated his master’s thesis on the topic “Definitions of the strongest heat waves in the United Kingdom – contrasts between 1976, 2003, 2018 and 2022” with the highest rating according to the UK education system (the so-called first class or distinction), taking into account five factors – quality of research work, linguistic expressiveness, critical attitude, obtained results and data visualization, while the previous accumulated number of points through winter and spring exams and projects from September 2022 to May 2023 made it possible to simultaneously crowns his master with the highest grade.
“Therefore, as of today, I have fulfilled all the necessary requirements for obtaining the title of Master of Science in Meteorology and Climatology.
The graduation ceremony will be held in the first decade of December 2023 in the United Kingdom,” he said.
He added that this is a significant moment for him and that he is more than proud of his academic achievement, especially considering the obstacles he encountered and the educational limitations he faced in Bosnia and Herzegovina where he could not study what he loved.
