EUFOR and NATO Headquarters Sarajevo hosted cadets and faculty members from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Department of History and War Studies, on March 3rd at Camp Butmir. During their visit, the cadets received a comprehensive briefing on Operation ALTHEA – the first and largest military mission of the European Union. Through a presentation delivered by the EUFOR team, students gained valuable insight into the mission’s role in maintaining a safe and secure environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the broader challenges of modern peace support operations.
In addition to the briefing, the visit included a static display of the Multinational Battalion, offering cadets a closer look at the equipment and capabilities employed in EUFOR’s daily operations. This visit highlights the importance of international cooperation and knowledge exchange between military institutions, strengthening mutual understanding of contemporary security environments and the role of multinational missions.
