The distribution of the remaining positions in the new Government of the United Kingdom (UK) followed the appointment of Liz Truss as Prime Minister.
The new foreign minister of this country will be James Cleverly. He is an unknown political figure for now, but he will represent the first Truss associate.
He will be in charge of the foreign policy of the UK.
Last year, a debate was held in the UK Parliament on the situation in the Western Balkans and Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH), during which Cleverly spoke about Milorad Dodik’s secessionist intentions.
”Recent political violence is causing great concern in the UK. Milorad Dodik threatens that officials from this entity will withdraw from state institutions. This is an act called de facto secession. This is a dangerous and deliberate attempt to deflect from failure when it comes to improving living standards and tackling corruption. That is unacceptable,” Cleverly said then.
During a speech in November 2021, Cleverly also expressed support for Christian Schmidt.
Observations about the Dayton Peace Agreement were also interesting.
”The agreement performs an important function in maintaining peace. I don’t think it was ever intended as a permanent and structural solution to the situation. The future evolution of the political and social structure of BiH is a topic that we will have to consider in the future,” Cleverly stressed.
