In the premises of the City Hall, a press conference was held yesterday by the Mayor of the City of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karic, who addressed the media and citizens, summarizing what was done in the year that is slowly coming to an end.
The mayor of Sarajevo boasted about the completed projects, but also announced new ones, some of which are of exceptional importance for the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
“We want to pay special attention to the reconstruction of facades. Unfortunately, we are witnessing that on almost every other older facade there is a sign saying ‘beware it is collapsing’ and it is a very ugly image that is being sent from our city. Facade reconstructions are extremely expensive and require large financial resources. Renovation of one building costs about 200 thousand BAM and it is a project that requires a lot of effort and will,” Karic pointed out.
There was also talk about the rehabilitation of the sewage network in Trebevic, as well as the ‘Clean Miljacka River‘ project, which was discussed before.
“We need to intensify the ‘Clean Miljacka River‘ project in 2023. This year, we finished the rehabilitation of the Bistrica stream, and the next in line is the Kosevski stream. As you know, sandblasting of the walls in the river bed itself was done, which represents a real refreshment”.
The construction of the bicycle path continued, and there are also plans to establish a bicycle path on the Sarajevo-Pale section.
“As you know, a bust dedicated to the legendary Ivica Osim will find its place at the entrance to Zeljo Stadium, and this initiative will be presented at the City Council session that will be held tomorrow,” she said yesterday.
“Establishing the monument to Tvrtko Kotromanic, the greatest Bosnian king, is a bit more difficult, and the biggest problem is the location where it should be placed. The monument is finished and ready and we are just waiting to find an adequate location. One of the best locations is the so-called ‘island‘ across from the SCC on Skenderija,” reveals Karic.
One of the important projects for the City of Sarajevo in the coming year is the renovation of the astronomical observatory on Trebevic, which requires significant funds. She pointed out that they plan to name it “Astro park Trebevic“.
Finally, she also emphasized the importance of forming an association of cevapi makers whose primary goal is to preserve the brand called Sarajevo cevap, Klix.ba reports.
