Siniša Karan’s political leader is Milorad Dodik. He is one of his closest collaborators and a member of the working group for making a plan for the secession of Republika Srpska from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Karan is on the list of persons for whom the Working Group for the Implementation of the Conclusions of the Commission for Srebrenica, which was formed in 2003 by the Government of the RS, determined that they participated in the genocide in Srebrenica from July 10 to 19. At that time, he was a high-ranking member of the MUP of the RS. At the time when his name appeared on the list, Karan held the position of head of SIPA’s Financial Intelligence Department.
“What is the list for Srebrenica, under what pressure did the commission do it. It was pressure on the institutions of the RS, on the entire RS. You remember, as far as I remember, that there were over 20,000 names on that list, members of the RS army and the Ministry of the Interior. It was an attack on the RS that has been going on for 30 years,” said Siniša Karan (SNSD).
A document from the Bijeljina Militia Station confirms that on July 30, 1992, the then police commander Siniša Karan formed a police patrol that worked on interventions. The following day, police officer Milenko Jović submitted a report in which it was stated that Fadil Sinanović was among the seven persons who were taken to the premises of the SJB. After the Bijeljina police took him into custody in 1992, Sinanović was killed.
“On that day, the militia from Janja detained him in front of the Bosna tavern somewhere in that location, arrested him and took him to the station in Janja. After that, Fadil Sinanović was taken from the station in Janja to Bijeljina, where, according to some of our information, he was held for several days. He was beaten and mistreated there. According to the autopsy findings, we know that Fadil’s skull was broken, that one of his eyes was knocked out from those blows, and that in the end he was killed with two bullet, two gunshot wounds and thrown. I know for sure that Fadil Sinanović was killed in the basement, I learned that from the police, in the basement of the MUP police station in Bijeljina,” said Mehmed Đezić, president of the Bijeljina-Janja camp.
Police officer Milenko Đokić, who was the patrol leader, testified about all this in SIPA.
“Around 8 o’clock we came to PS Janja, where Milan Đokić showed us his face and said that it was Fadil who worked at the gas station. I knew the same person personally because we grew up together. We took the face, we did not use any means of binding, as we were told that he needed to be interviewed. We took the face and brought the person to PS Bijeljina in an official vehicle, the so-called police car, where we informed the commander of the intervention unit Đoka Lukić, assistant or deputy commander Milorad Tešić and commander Karan Siniša”.
Siniša Karan did not want to answer specific questions.
Karan was one of Dodik’s most important operatives in the creation of the RS secession plan. He was the head of the Commission for the RS Day referendum, which was declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court.
“We continue with our regular notification of the public about the voter turnout in the republican referendum. I will just briefly mention that the citizens are performing their constitutional and legal duty in a really great and tolerant, solemn atmosphere”.
In 2017, due to the realization of activities that are contrary to the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against Karan, which the Court rejected, considering that the execution of the decision is within the competence of the National Assembly. Karan is one of Dodik’s closest collaborators. He also showed loyalty when the state prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into the overthrow of the constitutional and legal order of the state.
“The MUP has enough capacity to protect all citizens of the RS, as well as all the institutions of the RS and the holders of the most important constitutional institutions. I will just say that SIPA’s actions are not only a violation of the laws of the RS”.
Even after Dodik – Dodik, in an even more radical format, will be at the head of the RS entity, which will continue the policy that continuously undermines the constitutional and legal order of the state, systematically weakens its institutions and sovereignty, Federalna writes.
