The wife of former Nepalese Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal has passed away after being burned alive in her home during anti-government protests, regional media reported.
The woman was killed when her house was set on fire during the unrest. The building of the Nepalese parliament and the homes of political leaders were also set on fire.
The protests are being led by younger people, and the demonstrations began when the government banned social media.
The media reported that the main driver of the unrest is deeper anger over political corruption and the poor state of Nepali society.
