The cabinet of the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, has initiated activities related to the dismissal of the BiH ambassador to Malaysia, Senaid Memic, confirmed Bećirović’s advisor for foreign policy, Hoda Dedić.

According to her, these activities have been initiated and they will be made concrete in the coming weeks, and the final decision on the dismissal of the ambassador should be made by the BiH Presidency.

She emphasized that this entire process will be conducted exclusively according to the legal acts that regulate this type of issue.

Memic was arrested yesterday and is suspected of abuse of position or authority.

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office stated that Senaid Memić is accused of having illegally issued several permits during his term of office from 2013 to mid-2017 in connection with the construction of the buildings of investors Panamera, Malak group and the parking lot of the municipality of Ilidža, which was given to UO “Brajlović” for use.

Senaid Memic served as the mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža from 2011 to 2020, when he was appointed as the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Malaysia.

Memic is a member of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), which nominated him for the position of ambassador in 2020.
