Will the Fans of Ireland be able to come to match due to the Strike of Lufthansa?

Around 900 Irish fans are worried about their arrival to B&H to the first match of the playoffs for the European Championships 2016 which is to be played in Zenica on November 13. The reason for concern is the strike of the employees of the German airline Lufthansa.

Due to this reason, fans of the Republic of Ireland will probably have to seek for other options in order to reach B&H. The largest German airline cancelled 290 flights after the cabin crew entered a strike at the airports in Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. Lufthansa announced that additional 37 flights have been cancelled, which affected around 37,500 passengers.

According to the Irish media, this can be very important for people who intended to support the Irish football players in Zenica. The closest airport is in Sarajevo, and there are no direct flights from Dublin to Sarajevo. There are a large number of flights with transfer at the airports in Vienna and Frankfurt.

Lufthansa’s branches such as Austria Airlines, Germanwings, Eurowings, Swiss International Air Lines and others are not under strike.
