Will the issuance of Passports to BiH Citizens be suspended again?

There is a real danger that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) could again be left without passport books because the procurement is questionable due to complications in the procedure initiated by the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA).

The response from the Complaints Review Office did not arrive until February 2nd.

The Agency, as noted, received two appeals against the tender documents, which were forwarded to the Complaints Review Office of BiH, together with the statements on the allegations of the complaints and the complete documentation related to the procedure. Only on August 19th, the Office, in a joint appeal procedure, annulled the tender documentation.

But, the complaint was received again, and on November 16th, 2021, the Agency sent a request to the Complaints Review Office to submit a decision on the complaint, and on December 10th, the Office assessed the complaint as unfounded.

IDDEEA then continued the procedure of public procurement of passport books, and on December 21st, a new appeal against the tender documentation arrived.

The interests of the citizens come first

According to IDDEEA, the interests of the citizens come firstand they have taken all legally prescribed actions within their competence, and also announced that they will continue to make every effort to enable the citizens of BiH to enjoy the right to travel documents.

The citizens of BiH already had a problem with passport books in 2017, when IDDEEA spent the whole year on the purchase of passport books due to constant appeal procedures.
