The event was opened by Mostar Mayor Ljubo Beslic, and until January 7th, more than a hundred different entertaining programs will be available to residents and tourists.
At the opening, Beslic said that the goal is to bring citizens from all parts of the city to the promenade to have a good time and to enjoy.
“Europe has recognized that Mostar can be a cultural capital, and we with our fellow citizens want to prove that this is really possible,” Beslic said and explained that Mostar entered in the race for European Capital 2024 Award.
Semir Temin, deputy director of Tourist Board of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, said that this institution supported a number of events throughout the year.
“Earlier, Mostar often needed more facilities that attract most tourists. I am particularly pleased to be in this beautiful street, the street of our youth,” said Temim.
The opening ceremony was followed by the opening ceremony of the Mostar Mazoretkinje-dancers, after which magician Steffano showed his skills.
