Wizz Air cancels two important Lines from BiH

Low-cost carrier Wizz Air plans to terminate or temporarily suspend several routes from three markets of the former Yugoslavia.

The carrier will discontinue flights from Banja Luka to Stockholm Skavsta, with the last route scheduled for August 28, as well as from Banja Luka to Hamburg at the end of the summer season on October 28.

As a result, Wizz Air will maintain operations from Banja Luka to Basel and Dortmund this winter.

For its part, the operator of Republika Srpska Airport announced that air carriers reserve the right to change their destination network and that Banja Luka Airport has a contract with Wizz Air until the 2024 summer season.

The low-cost carrier also plans to suspend two lines from Podgorica this winter. At the end of October, flights from the capital of Montenegro to Rome Fiumicino and Vienna will be discontinued. However, Wizz said both routes will be renewed during the 2024 summer season, which starts on March 31 next year.

Last winter season, Wizz Air operated flights to the Italian and Austrian capitals.

“As part of our ongoing analysis and search for new route options, Wizz Air has decided to temporarily suspend flights between Vienna and Podgorica, as well as between Rome and Podgorica. However, we are pleased to inform you that these routes will continue to operate during the summer season. This strategic adjustment enables the optimization of operations, while at the same time ensuring that passengers can enjoy the convenience and availability of these routes during peak traffic periods,” said the Wizz Air statement, reports Ex-Yu Aviation News.
