The exhibition of works of art by professors and associates of the Okinawa Prefectural University of Art opened today in the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts (ALU) in Sarajevo.
The works of nineteen artists who are also teachers at the Okinawa Prefectural University of Art in Japan are presented.
The exhibition concludes the rich program marking the jubilee 50th birthday of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Sarajevo.
Deputy Dean for International Cooperation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, professor Srđa Hrisafović thanked the Embassy of Japan for making this exhibition possible.
“With this wonderful event, a series of exhibitions marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Academy of Fine Arts ends,” he said.
Associate Professor at the Teaching Department of the Academy of Fine Arts, Jasmina Gavrankapetanović-Redžić, who studied at the Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts (OPUA), said that 19 artists of different generations and different profiles are represented by works on paper and that drawings and graphics are also exhibited.
She noted that, despite the geographical and cultural distance, ALU Sarajevo and OPUA have been cooperating through various artistic and educational projects since 2008.
The exhibition will be open until February 27, from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
