Thirty three years old young woman who was killed by a rock on the way to Foča this morning was a doctor at the Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance of the Sarajevo Canton.
The tragedy happened this morning around 9:15 a.m., and the doctor with the initials S.A. she was in the passenger seat. There was a man in the driver’s seat who suffered serious injuries, but his life is out of danger.
With an emotional message from the injured doctor, the CS emergency team said goodbye.
“It is with immense sadness and pain that we inform the public that our dear colleague, Dr. Aida Softić, has tragically lost her life. In the moments when words become silent, there remains a silence that testifies to the magnitude of the loss. Dr. Aida Softić was a doctor specializing in emergency medicine – extremely dedicated to her calling, responsible, conscientious and extremely dedicated to every task she undertook. Her expertise and professional integrity left an indelible mark on our institution. We will remember her as a person with a gentle nature, with an open heart and true empathy. Her presence brought peace, and her work was reliable in the daily challenges of emergency medicine. We have lost not only a top young expert, but also a person whose humanity she inspired. On behalf of all the employees, we express our deepest condolences to her family, friends and everyone who loved and respected her will remain in our collective memory will be with us – in the silence of duty, in the glances of colleagues, in every life she touched with hope. Forever yours, the Emergency Medical Service of the Sarajevo Canton”, are the words of colleagues who said their last goodbye to the young doctor.
The accident occurred this morning at the Sijeračke stijene (Milvina) site when a rock fell on a moving car. This is a very dangerous section of the road where landslides and traffic disruptions are often recorded.
A few years ago, a fatal accident also occurred on this section when a truck driver was killed by a rock.
