Zagreb threatens Third Entity: “If Muslims don’t come to their Senses, they will get a worse Solution”

HDZ representative in the European Parliament Tomislav Sokol, guest on TVHB, commented on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina with special reference to the amendments to the Election Law. His speech was marked by harsh rhetoric and direct threats to establish a third entity.

What particularly attracted attention in Sokol’s media appearance was the terminology he used. In the manner of the rhetoric of the former president of the RS, Milorad Dodik, the Croatian MEP addressed Bosniaks exclusively as “Muslims” during the entire conversation.

Sokol claims that Bosniak politics is the main obstacle to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path.

“The main problem still remains, and that is Muslim politics, which is for Europe in principle, but when things need to be realized concretely, we see that all other things come first for them. They are not ready to compromise on the Electoral Act, and without reforming the Electoral Act, it is very difficult to talk about the European path,” said Sokol.

Sokol expressed skepticism that an agreement will be reached between domestic leaders, hinting that changes to the Election Law could be made in a different way.

“There are chances that changes to the Election Law will come about in another way. I do not see any readiness on the Muslim side to agree, but it is possible that it could happen in another way. I do not see that there will be any relaxation and agreement, and then it is very difficult to talk about a European perspective,” he believes.

The HDZ representative is convinced that the West today clearly recognizes “unitary policies as the fundamental cause of the stagnation of BiH.”
In the final part of his speech, Sokol made an open threat to form a third entity if the law is not amended to the extent that he advocates.

“In the long term, unitary politics definitely does not have the support of the West. If Muslims are not ready to compromise and if they do not come to their senses, they will get a solution that is much worse from their perspective. If they are not ready to reform the Election Law in the foreseeable future, one morning they will wake up with a third entity,” Sokol said, Klix.ba writes.
