Zakharova: Moscow will respond to the Attempt to appropriate Russian Property

The European Union’s decision to grant Kiev an additional loan worth 35 billion dollars is a scheme to deceive Brussels into appropriating frozen Russian assets, and Russia’s response will not be long, said the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

“It won’t take long for a decisive response from the Russian side to another attempt by the EU to pocket revenues from Russia’s ‘frozen’ funds,” Zakharova said.

Earlier in the day, Group of Seven leaders reached an agreement to provide Ukraine with a loan of almost $50 billion, with a plan to repay it from the proceeds of Russia’s frozen assets.

The loan is planned to be fully repaid from December 2024 to December 31, 2027.
