Ethnological Department of the Museum of RS in Banja Luka is finishing works on nomination of Zmijanjski folk embroidery for UNESCO’s list on non-material cultural heritage.
Ethnologist Vladimir Đukanović is leading the project and nomination file will be given to UNESCO Commission in BiH.
Preliminary list of non-material cultural heritage of RS was formed in 2011 and curators from several museums of RS and members of the Academic community participated in the making of the list.
Seven elements of culture are on the list: Patron Saint’s Day, traditional making of charcoal, Nevesinje Olympics, zmijanjski folk embroidery, Mrkonjić smiths, Osećanski language and collecting osier on the Ozren Mountain.
