halalHalal tourism is a tourism for people who live according to so called halal lifestyle and in BIH there is already a large number of objects that offer halal services.

Nermin Hadžić from the Agency for Certifying halal quality in BiH said to ekapija.ba that the introduction of the system of certifying the services and food preparation will ensure that halal services are done in accordance with international norms.

Although the halal tourism is still in its early phase in BiH, the Agency is preparing 10 objects which should get the halal certificate by the end of this year.

Hadžić concluded that halal tourism includes all activities of organising and realising the entire vacation in order to attract more tourists.

However, this service is not intended only for tourists, but also for those who need halal services regardless of their travel motives.

Process of acquiring the halal certificate is being done on the basis of the Halal standard procedure BAS 1049:2010 and the Guide for Halal Certifying of Services.

In BiH, the first hotel that got the halal certificate was the hotel ‘Pahuljica’ in Vlašić and the first restaurant was ‘Terasa’ in Ilidža.
