
On this occasion, the Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komsic and his deputy Abdullah Skaka today presented the role that City Hall had in the cultural and tourist life of the city of Sarajevo in the past 2 years, and presented activities in the future period.
Komsic recalled that the City Hall was one of the most expensive projects of the time, and he emphasized that it was built with the money from the budget of the former city municipality, thus from the money of the citizens of Sarajevo. The construction of the interiors cost more than a million crowns.
The most representative object was visited by numerous delegations of the countries, cities, governmental and non-governmental organizations, there were prepared concerts, conferences, receptions, exhibitions, promotions, wedding ceremonies, and the song that will represent BiH on Eurosong was premiered here as well.
“The City Hall is a self-sustaining facility, and when all facilities get in function, it will make money,” concluded Komsic, and explained that many valuable manuscripts, national treasure of BiH, will be placed in the Hall, as well as the archives of the Hague Tribunal, which will be tempting for researchers.
On the occasion of marking 120 years, doors of the City Hall are open to all visitors today.
