14.1 % more Tourists visited BiH in the Month of August

Tourists achieved a total of 160,932 visits in the month of August this year in BiH, which is by 0.3 % more in comparison to the month of July this year and 14.1 % more when compared to August last year.

According to the Agency for Statistics of BiH, tourists recorded a total of 372,102 overnight stays, which is by 7.2 % more than in July and 11.6 % more compared to August last year. When it comes to the total number of overnight stays, the share of domestic tourists is 20.4%, while the share of foreign tourists is 79.6 %.

The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists in the month of August was increased by 1 % compared to July, and by 3.9 % in comparison to the month of August last year. The number of overnight stays of foreign tourists was increased by 8.9 % when compared to July, and by 13.7 % when compared to the month of August last year.

Tourists from the United Arab Emirates (8.5 %) recorded the most overnight stays, and they are followed by Saudi Arabia (8.1 %), Italy (7.4 %), Turkey (6.4 %), Poland (6.1 %), Serbia (5.1 %) and Croatia (4.8 %).

When it comes to the length of stay of foreign tourists, tourists from Malta stayed the most with an average stay of 7.1 overnight stays, then France with 4.2 overnight stays, Kuwait with 4 overnight stays, Qatar with 3.8 overnight stays, Ireland with 3.5 overnight stays and Romania with 3.4 overnight stays.
