In Republika Srpska, from Sunday, September 1st, the price of electricity for certain industrial customers will be higher, while for citizens there will be no price increase, was confirmed by the Director General of “Electric Power Industry of Republika Srpska” Luka Petrovic.

Petrovic said that the Administration of the Electric Power Industry of Republika Srpska had a meeting today with representatives of the Electric Power Industry, Energy and Confederation of Trade Unions of the Republika Srpska, and that the main topic was the increase in electricity prices, Biznis Info reports.

Petrovic explained that in March, the Electricity Regulatory Agency limited the ability to supply customers at voltage levels of 110, 35 and 10 kilowatts in such a way that they were obliged to provide their electricity supplier by September 1.

He explained that there are a total of 24 legal entities in the Republika Srpska licensed to supply electricity, and one of these suppliers is Elektroprivreda Srpske, adding there are 1,174 customers at voltage levels of 110, 35 and 10 kilowatts.

“We want to retain all customers and of these 1,174 customers we have adjusted the price of electricity for about 200 of them and have offered appropriate contracts,” Petrovic said.

Petrovic stated that the newly offered prices for industrial customers are much more favorable than in countries in the region.

“In Serbia it is 58 euros per megawatt-hour, in Croatia it is about 55 euros, in Elektroprivreda BiH it is about 50 euros, in Montenegro it is 45 euros, and in our country, it has so far been 31.3 euros and we have here increased the price,” Petrovic said.
