1,601 Roses to be planted in Memory of Children killed during the Sarajevo Siege

On the occasion of marking April 6, the Day of Sarajevo, the Association of ecologists “Arboretum-Botanical Gardens” is planning to organize the campaign “Sarajevo 1.601 roses for 1.601 flowers”.

This campaign was supported by the City Administration of the City of Sarajevo and it was included in the official marking ceremony for the celebration of the City of Sarajevo, as announced by this association.

This campaign includes planting 1,601 roses in memory of 1,601 children killed during the siege of Sarajevo. The association of parents of the killed children gave their consent and they will be included in the realization of the campaign, as well as the maintenance of the park of roses in the cooperation with the PUC Park and pupils of the school for environment.

The PUC Park approved several locations suitable for planting in all four municipalities, as well as expert assistance and assistance in the preparation of localities, as well as maintenance after planting.

The association will provide T-shirts for children with the inscription “1.601”, as well as roses and a sufficient amount of water, juices, gloves, transportation etc.

This campaign is planned for April 4.
