Slavisa Culum, previously well known to the police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was killed in Banja Luka on Friday, Klix.ba news portal reports.

Culum was killed in his car, near the family house in Dragocaj near Banja Luka, confirmed the head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Mirna Miljanovic.

He was the leader of a criminal group from Banja Luka, and he was recently released from prison. Namely, Culum was sentenced to 17 and a half years in prison in 2011 for the attempted murder of Jovan Josil.

In 2010, in a gang clash when an assassination attempt took place, Slavisa’s brother Nedeljko was killed, and that event caused great additional tensions among criminal groups.

Culum is one of the suspects in the “Treasury” operation, who was suspected by the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior of robberies worth two million marks along with other crimes.
