On this day 28 years ago, 26 citizens of Sarajevo were killed waiting in line for bread in Sarajevo’s Ferhadija Street.

On that occasion, the delegation of the Sarajevo Canton, led by Prime Minister Mario Nenadic, laid flowers and paid tribute to the victims of the massacre across the City Market., Klix.ba news portal reports.

Among those present were Federal Vice President Milan Dunovic and Miro Lazovic.

 

 

Among those gathered were members of the families of those killed who even today cannot understand the fact that someone could have killed innocent civilians who were just standing to take bread.

Due to measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, there were no official addresses, but those present said that this crime must never be forgotten and that much more needs to be done to make May 27, 1992 forever in the memories of all Bosnian citizens, especially residents of Sarajevo.

In addition to the 26 killed, 108 citizens were wounded at the same place.

Among those killed were: Nedžad Abdija, Ismet Ašćerić, Ruždija Bektešević, Snježana Biloš, Predrag Bogdanović, Vladimir Bogunović, Vasva Čengić, Gordana Ćeklić, Mirsad Fazlagić, Emina Karamustafić, Mediha Omerović, Bahrija Pilav, Mila Ruždić, Mile Ružić, Abdulah Sarajlić, Sulejman Sarajlić, Hatidža Salić, Galib Sinotić, Sreten Stamenović, Srećko Šiklić, Božica Trajeri-Pataki, Vlatko Tanacković, Srećko Tanasković, Tamara Vejzagić-Kostić, Jusuf Vladović and Izudin Zukić.
