US Institute published Black Forecasts of the spread of Coronavirus for Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Institute for Independent Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) of the University of Washington in Seattle has published predictions of coronavirus development. The figures of the global research health center predict a black scenario, ie as many as 2,732 deaths in Bosnia and Herzegovina by January 1, 2021, Avaz news portal reports.

There is a big difference compared to the current figures, when 623 deaths caused by coronavirus have been recorded in Bosnia and Herzegovina since the beginning of the pandemic.

That, according to this analysis, would mean that 2,093 people would die in just three months. Also, the curve shows that the escalation will reach its peak on November 20, when as many as 43 people could die in one day.

The lowest recorded mortality should be exactly on January 1, at six that day.

It is also stated that until November 18, BiH will test 2,613 people daily for the presence of coronavirus. It was emphasized that these are predictions based on the available data of the current transmission.

The figures for IHME, which was created in 2007, on the basis of a grant of about 105 million dollars, which was mostly donated by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, are discouraging.

By January 1, 1,267 deaths have been predicted for neighboring Croatia, which is 1,465 less than in our country. The current figures in our country, when it comes to the spread of coronavirus, are not promising, but they are drastically milder than those predicted by the American Institute.

Thus, in the last 24 hours, 296 newly infected people were registered, and 12 people died.

According to estimates by the American Institute, protective masks are currently worn by 24 percent of the population, and that percentage will not change until January 2021.

On the other hand, one of the measures for the prevention of coronavirus diseases is the social distance that BH citizens do not adhere strictly. According to the IHME, this measure is not being respected even now, and a dramatic drop is predicted in November.
