In 2025, the National Theatre Sarajevo presented a large number of drama, opera, and ballet performances, as well as concerts, to domestic audiences and audiences across the region.
Audiences were able to enjoy the special programs of the National Theatre Sarajevo: “Culture to the Streets 2025!”, “Theatre at Your Doorstep”, “Theatre Notte”, “Homo Theatralis”, “Autumn Elegy”, “Regional Theatre”, and “Kaleidoscope of Theatre Through the Lens of the Young”.
They hosted artists from regional theatres and were hosts to numerous festivals, events, and concerts.
In the new year 2026, they are bringing even richer content, new premieres and world premieres, as well as concerts by regional and domestic artists and ensembles, and new editions of the special programs “Culture to the Streets!” and “Theatre at Your Doorstep”.

National Theatre Sarajevo in figures in 2025
In the 2025 calendar year, the National Theatre produced 3 world premieres and 6 premieres, namely two drama world premieres, one musical, two opera premieres, and one ballet premiere, while 109 revival performances were staged on the National Theatre Sarajevo stage.
We produced new special programs, “Homo Theatralis”, “Autumn Elegy”, and “Regional Theatre”.
The National Theatre Sarajevo recorded 23 guest performances, 10 of which were at festivals, where 11 awards were won.
A total of 71.829 audience members attended the programs of the National Theatre Sarajevo, and within the special programs “Culture to the Streets!” and “Theatre at Your Doorstep”, 40 programs were produced, attended by 32.083 lovers of the arts.
The National Theatre Sarajevo was the host of as many as 6 festivals: Sarajevo Fest, Jazz Fest, MESS, SVEM, Sarajevo Film Festival, and Ballet Fest.
