24 Years have passed since the Death of the Hero of Drina Zaim Imamovic

The 24th anniversary of the death of the legendary commander Zaim Imamovic will be marked on Wednesday at 11:00 o’clock in Sarajevo.

The commander of the 14th Division of the 1st Corps of the Army of BiH was killed on the 9th of October 1995, two days before the establishment of a permanent truce on the territory of the Republic of B&H, on the front line in the region of Rogoj in the Trnovo municipality.

Commander Zaim Imamovic had very important role and contribution in the defense of this region, who formed the First Drinska brigade in 1992, which was one of the first brigades that defended the eastern gate of BiH. He was also the creator of the operation with code name Krug, which was carried out from the 15th of August to the 18th of September 1992, within which he liberated the city of Gorazde and the entire territory of this municipality, as well as significant parts of the municipalities Foca and Rogatica.

Hero of Drina, Zaim Imamovic, commander of the 14th Division of the 1st Corps of the Army of BiH, was posthumously awarded with the highest military honor “Zlatni ljijan/Golden Lilly” award.
