“Sarajevo Story” and the performances of Crvena Jabuka, Zabranjeno pušenje, Bombaj Štampa and Laka & Lela, according to the first estimates, attracted 27,000 people to Titova Street in Sarajevo.
Sarajevo is traditionally recognized as the regional center of the best entertainment and public New Year celebrations with the biggest music stars.
New Year’s Eve in Sarajevo is more than a concert, because a unique accompanying event called “Sarajevo story” was also organized, in which part of the popular “Nadrealisti” appeared.
This year, the public reception began with a concert by the Sarajevo Philharmonic at 7:30 p.m., and the traditional New Year’s concert was broadcast in front of the National Theater itself, where LED screens were installed, but also in the area where the reception was held – in Titova street in front of the Eternal Flame.
The Sarajevo Philharmonic concert, i.e. the first part of the reception, lasted until 8:40 p.m., and was followed by a break filled with appropriate content.
At 9 p.m., the program began in front of the Eternal Fire, and the first of the four bands performed was Laka & Lela, followed by Bombaj Štampa and Zabranjeno pušenje, which ushered the people of Sarajevo and visitors into the New Year 2024. After them, “Sarajevo Story” is completed by the performance of Crvena Jabuka.
After midnight, the informal anthem of the city of Sarajevo, the song “Sarajevo ljubavi moja” by Kemal Monteno, was performed. There were no fireworks, instead confetti was shot.
