310,000 BAM Raised at the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, Grants Awarded to 28 Organizations

A total of 310,000 BAM was raised at the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, held on December 7, 2025, at the Skenderija. Representatives of sponsors, embassies, and international organizations today ceremonially presented grant checks to 28 organizations across Bosnia and Herzegovina that provide support to children and young people.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, David Badower, emphasized that this year’s result represents much more than the amount raised.

“Beyond the sum of 310,000 BAM, this success reflects the extraordinary spirit of unity between the international and local communities,” Badower said.

He recalled that the bazaar has become a symbol of connection and solidarity, a place of unity and empathy.

“On December 7, 2025, more than 13,000 visitors gathered alongside 43 embassies and international organizations, international schools, local partners, and over 900 volunteers to show their support. Their shared commitment created an atmosphere of generosity and cultural exchange, reminding us that when communities come together, meaningful change is possible,” Badower stressed.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, he expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event.

He also extended special thanks to the headquarters of EUFOR and NATO in Sarajevo for their support.

“This year’s grant recipients work tirelessly to improve the lives of children and young people, particularly those facing developmental challenges, disabilities, poverty, discrimination, or the absence of parental care,” Badower emphasized.

From therapy and psychosocial support to scholarships, safe spaces, and empowerment programs, he added, each organization plays a crucial role in ensuring that every child in Bosnia and Herzegovina has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.

Among the grant recipients are the associations Angelus, Bosanski doktori (Bosnian Doctors), Dajte nam šansu (Give Us a Chance), and Kruh sv. Ante (Bread of St. Anthony).

The Diplomatic Winter Bazaar is a volunteer-based, non-profit initiative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, bringing together partners year after year with the aim of providing concrete support to children throughout the country.
