As part of a prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel, 33 Palestinian prisoners, including 30 women and three children, were released from Israeli prisons.

Prisoners from the occupied West Bank left the Israeli military prison Ofer on a bus of the International Red Cross and were then transferred to Ramallah.

Israeli soldiers intervened with tear gas and live bullets against people who had gathered in the town of Beitunja to welcome the Palestinian prisoners.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that a Palestinian was killed as a result of the fire opened by Israeli soldiers.

Among those freed are nine people from Jerusalem (Al-Quds), among whom is the youngest prisoner, Nofut Hamad (16 years old) from the Sheikh Jarah neighborhood, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while the remaining 24 are from the West Bank provinces.

This is the fourth group of Palestinian prisoners to be released from Israeli jails under a humanitarian break reached by Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip, brokered by Qatar and Egypt and America.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar announced yesterday that the humanitarian pause has been extended for another two days.

A four-day humanitarian pause between Hamas and Israel took effect on Friday, November 24, at 07:00 local time.

Under the agreement, 150 Palestinians in Israeli prisons will be released in exchange for 50 Israeli prisoners held by Hamas.

Israel launched brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 7.

Since then, more than 15,000 Palestinians have been killed, including 6,150 children and more than 4,000 women, according to health authorities. The official death toll in Israel is 1,200, AA reports.
