The contract for the construction of the Ivan tunnel within the A1 motorway was signed in Mostar on the future section from Tarcin to Konjic. The value of the works is about 111 million BAM. The agreement was signed by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Motorways Company Director Adnan Terzic, Euro-Asphalt representatives Hamed and Munir Ramic, and Denis Lasic, FBiH Minister of Transport and Communications.

“This may be a small step, but it’s a big one for us. I am glad that the contract for the construction of the tunnel was awarded to companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thanks to the work of our companies here in the country, they have become significant regional players. We are also expecting contracts for the highway to the Ivan tunnel and part of the highway north of Zenica, which will be under construction for about 40 kilometers of the highway,” Terzic said.

The completion date is expected in the spring of 2022.

The Ivan tunnel on the A1 motorway will cost 57,628,570 Euros or 111.5 million  BAM excluding VAT, and the money is secured with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a grant from WBIF (EU funds).

The length of the tunnel is about 1.7 kilometers and will be dug below the existing Ivan tunnel on the M17 main road.

In detail, the total length of the right tunnel tube is 1,721 meters, while the left tunnel tube is 1,761 meters long.
