The Director of the Highways of the RS Dusan Topic and the Transport Department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Sue Barrett signed the Agreement on the approval of loan funds for the construction of the first phase of Corridor 5C through the RS.

This is 70 million EUR worth loan, which is intended for the construction of a section of this highway from Johovac Loop to Rudanka Loop.

Sue Barrett noted that this investment will contribute to the further integration of BiH with the Western Balkans and the European market.

“This represents a continuation of earlier projects within which was constructed a total of 100 kilometera of modern highways, and the support to the development of this country is provided with this project, through integrations and connectivity,” she said.

Topic noted that signing of this contract represents a result of continued and constructive cooperation with the EBRD.

“We are very grateful for all the support in the previous period, and we are hoping to further increase our cooperation now when the excises on fuel will be changed,” stated Topic.

The Director of EBRD in BiH Ian Brown noted that the EBRD has invested more than 2 billion EUR in around 150 projects in BiH.
