giftsEvery day, volunteers have a lot of work and invest a lot of positive energy to change the life of children who are in social need. They stand for days in front of the shopping centers and collect aid, regardless of the weather conditions outside. All of this, volunteers do with a lot of love for children.

“We have a lot of children who need our help, they live not only in BiH, but in all four countries. Regularly, I visit children with developmental disabilities, social services, children’s hospitals and so on. So far we have managed to collect and share more than 900 tons of food and hygiene products, and more amount of school supplies, shoes and clothing, “said Jasminka Turkic-Iković, the president of Smješak.

During the previous holidays, 1,500 children were gladden with gifts. People in all countries have accepted them warmly and every time look forward to their arrival.

“We have plans to expand our work to the territory of Slovenia, Austria and Italy, and in the upcoming period even beyond. We wish to thank all our members in all four countries as well as to companies that support us: Konzum, Robot, Amko, Billa, Kaufland and Idea, “added Turkic-Iković.

If you want to be the cause of a child’s smile, visit the official website or Facebook page of the Association Smješak and learn how you can help.
