The Vice-President of the FBiH Svetozar Pudarić spoke today in Sarajevo with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics Željko Šain with the goal to exchange opinions and learn about the activities of this faculty.
‘’It is especially interesting to find out the opinion of the Management Faculty on the integration of the University of Sarajevo. I believe that the way in which Dean Šain and his colleagues set the model of integration should be what other faculties do, and the rectorate and Canton Sarajevo government should seriously consider’’, said Pudarić.
He pointed out that with this approach there could be a quality solution other than by the centralization of functions at the level of the rectorate, especially in the case where there are diverse faculties-members of the University of Sarajevo with very specific, and in some cases conflicting interests.
Due to centralization, Pudarić believes that it will be difficult to solve all existing problems, and new problems would probably arise.
Šain said that the visit of the Vice-President of the FBiH is a great honor for the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo.
‘’It is quite natural that the leading national university should have an exchange of opinions with the highest governmental authorities in order to see the position of the University and where to go in these difficult times’’, said Šain.
Stressing that it is important to know how to direct future generations and how to increase the material and spiritual richness of BiH, Šain says that this can be achieved only through an agreement between the administration of the faculty and state authorities.
Also, Pudarić said that the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo is one of the most successful faculties in BiH, which was the fastest faculty to commence its work after the war.
The approach of this faculty is something that most faculties would have to adopt, because it deals with the system of organization from which other members of the University of Sarajevo, as well as all others can do in order to continuously improve its contacts within and outside the country.
