A hearing is scheduled for today before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case against the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, for disobeying the decisions of the high representative in our country, Christian Schmidt.

The trial will be held only for Dodik, given that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not accept the request to rejoin the case against the President of the Republic with the case against the acting director of the “Official Herald” Miloš Lukić.

Dodik’s defense attorney, Goran Bubić, previously told Srna that the defense will present its position on everything at the hearing.

Lawyer Miljkan Pucar, who represents the acting director of “Službene Glasnik”, previously told Srna news agency that he had only received a verbal notification from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina that his client should not attend the hearing scheduled for February 5 and that he expected a written notification from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina about separation of proceedings.

The cases against Dodik and Lukić were separated at the hearing on January 17, which the acting director of “Službeni Glasnik” did not attend because he was in the hospital.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected earlier the requests of Dodik’s defense for the disqualification of judge Mirsad Strika, and for the disqualification of seven judges of this court.

We remind you that Dodik and Lukić are charged with the criminal offense of failure to execute the decisions of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against Dodik and Lukić on August 11 and sent it to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation, but on August 18 the Court returned it to the Prosecutor’s Office for editing and amendment.

The indictment followed after the National Assembly of the RS adopted two disputed laws on June 27, which Dodik signed according to the regular legislative procedure and were published in the Official Gazette of the RS.

These are laws that state that the decisions of the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (OHR) will no longer be published in this publication, and thus will not be respected in that Bosnia and Herzegovina. entity, as well as that the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will no longer apply in the RS.

The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, annulled both laws with his decisions of July 1.

Dodik’s defense submitted a request to move this trial to Banjaluka, but the Appellate Division of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected this request.
