A Hidden Gem Near The Quarry: Lake Ingram In Srebrenik

In the middle of a quarry, among gray rocks and heavy machinery, hides a sight few would expect – a turquoise color that brightens the entire area. It is Lake Ingram in Srebrenik, not far from Tuzla, a natural oasis that was formed after the major floods in May and August 2014.

Today, the lake has an area of about 14.000 square meters and an average depth of ten meters. The water is clear and untouched, but for now, it is not used for any purpose.

While stone production is ongoing, swimming is not allowed, and visitors can only approach and take photos by the shore with permission.

“People are coming more and more often to see this wonder of nature. Photos of the lake are circulating on social media, and on the Facebook page ‘Jezero Ingram’, one can find both old and new pictures showing its changing beauty,” say locals.

Although it currently lies quietly in the shadow of the quarry, the lake has a brighter future.

When stone production stops, the plan is for the lake to become a place for rest, recreation, and tourism – a spot where nature and people will come together, and where the water born of the flood will bring new life to the local community, AA writes.
