Banja Luka resident D.G. (25) died yesterday in the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska (UKC RS), after he fell ill after physical violence against his mother in an apartment in Stepe Stepanovića Street in Banja Luka.

D.G. had previously, between 8 and 10 a.m., physically attacked his mother, whose initials are M.G. (44), and from the beginning of the violence until the arrival of the police, he was prevented by family members and neighbors. Acting on a report of a criminal act of domestic or family violence, the officers of the Banja Luka Police Department went to the scene, but the suspect D.G. got sick.

He was then transported by the Emergency Medical Service vehicle to UKC RS, where he died not long after.

The on-site investigation of this event was carried out by the duty prosecutor of the Banja Luka District Public Prosecutor’s Office, Dalibor Vreco, together with the officers of the BanjaLuka Police Department, the Banja Luka District Public Prosecutor’s Office announced.

The prosecutor ordered that measures and actions be taken, as well as an expert examination of the circumstances of this event, and in order to determine the exact cause of death, an autopsy was ordered, which will be performed at the Institute for Forensic Medicine of the RS.
